Ensure wood moisture content is below 14%. Repair any imperfections using appropriate filler or knotting sealer. For bare wood: Sand with 80 or 100-grit paper, wipe with a damp cloth, and allow to dry. For previously varnished wood: Sand to a matte finish, remove dust, and test compatibility. With flaking surfaces: Strip old varnish using Duram EcoStripp or DuraStripp, then sand evenly.How to Apply the Duram Urethane Wood Varnish: Stir thoroughly for 5 minutes using a flat paddle. Apply in a clean, dust-free environment between 5°C and 35°C. Use a natural bristle brush, foam roller, or air-assisted spray. Apply 2 or more coats in the direction of the wood grain. Use long, smooth strokes; sand lightly between coats if fibres appear.
